Shin Ramen Recipe - Simple Ways to Upgrade Instant Ramen
Love Shin Ramen? There are so many ingredients you can add to make this instant ramen unique and tasty. Shin Ramen is popular in Korea as well as in other countries. The ramen package comes with spicy soup and dried vegetable packets. It's available in most grocery stores worldwide.
I like adding my own twist to it; It's super simple and easy using ingredients available in my refrigerator, freezer and pantry. It's my go to lunch on busy days at home. Some might consider it's not a healthy option. However, by adding some vegetables and other healthy ingredients, it can be a wholesome quick meal (takes only 10 minutes to make). There is also a little trick I use in the video below to make the noodles and the soup less oily.
Ingredients to add:
-Vegetables
spinach, kale, cabbage, kimchee, scallions, chives, bean sprouts, mushrooms(fresh or dried), almost any vegetables
-Eggs
-Fresh/frozen Seafood
shrimp, shellfish, octopus, squid
-Cooked meats
beef, pork, chicken
Finally, timing is important in cooking since instant noodles tend to get overcooked and become mushy. So if vegetables and eggs take longer to cook than the noodles, they need to be added into the pot long before the noodles are done. For extra flavor and spiciness, I like to add kimchee juice (the liquid in a kimchee jar), sesame oil and red pepper flakes.
Experiment and enjoy!
